The Chinese Gold Panda coin is collection of gold bullion rounds. These are struck by the national mint of China – People’s Republic of China to be specific. They are issued in various different coin sizes: beginning as small as 1/20 oz and as big as 1 full ounce. Gold Panda coins have the same fineness factor as most gold gold coin of 99.9%, however most are worth a little over the gold value based on demand by collectors.
The coins are known as the Golden Panda because each years’ coin features a panda on one side (the images change from year to year). The reverse side carries a picture of the Temple of Heaven with Chinese characters on top saying Zhonghua Renmin Gongheguo (meaning People’s Republic of China) and the date of the year it was minted and struck. Each sized coin carries a specific face value in Yuan (official Chinese currency). Due to the unique artistry, the coins continue to be one of the world’s most popular gold bullion coins to collect.
